Your website is a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week sales assistant. Consumers use websites to research your products and services, as well as evaluate what type of business you are. Investing in a site that looks and functions well inspires confidence – like a well dressed and courteous sales assistant in your business. Consumers are now very comfortable and confident to shop online. Offering respected payment systems and easy communications paths is essential for success online.
The more professional your website is, the more advantages you gain.
A good website provides another avenue for customers and prospects to find your company.
Your website is important because it helps you establish credibility as a business. Most people just assume that you have a website since the vast majority of businesses do.
Building an authoritative site means search engines such as Google will look to your business as a reference site. For this reason, your site needs to be easy to navigate and free of clutter. It’s also important that your site is updated on a regular basis and this can be done through a blog. Google looks to see if sites are active and ranks them higher than sites that are dormant.
Our sites are built using WordPress. This means it can be easily updated as and when the need arises. It’s also important that your site be mobile friendly and look its best on small and large screen devices alike. WordPress sites can be easily maintained by anyone without a background in web development.
Search Engine Optimisation is what we do but instead of an add-on, we optimise as we build.
What’s more, we’ll connect you to Google Analytics so you can see how your site is performing.
Google Analytics allows you to track many important metrics, covering all aspects. You can monitor the effectiveness of your online marketing strategies, onsite content, user experience, and device functionality. … Google Analytics allows you the information needed to improve your website, and make it the best it can be.
Website build costs
Our websites are usually an inclusive price for build and graphic design. It includes the implementation of Google Analytics, including webmaster tools, Facebook Pixel, and Search Engine Optimisation as well as one on one instructions in the use and maintenance of your site. Ongoing maintenance and additions to the site after the site build has been completed is at a per hour rate.
Website Updates and Backups
All websites need a bit of TLC. WordPress is no different. Every few months WordPress will update their software to fix problems and add new features. It’s recommended that this is done as updates become available. Also, WordPress plugins – the extras that give functionality to the website, are updated regularly and these need to be applied as they are released. Most importantly, the site needs to be backed up regularly off-site. This means if the server that the site is on fails, it can easily be restored with minimal offline time. We can show you how to do this or we can do it for a minimal cost per month.
What you need to know
Being found in search is behind everything we do in building a website. Not only must your site be desktop friendly, it must also be mobile friendly and we quite often need to make two versions of some pages so it works well in both. If a page is not mobile friendly, Google will not return that page in results when a user searches on a mobile device.
Descriptive domain names are also advantageous.
It’s easy to move your website from your existing hosting provider. We don’t use any technology the locks you in with us or any other provider for that matter.
We can’t future proof your site from technology that hasn’t emerged yet. Your site will be built using the latest available software and technology. Sites don’t last forever, but you’ll get many years of compliance with WordPress.
We’re here to help, advise and work with you. You’re not just commissioning us to build your site, we’ll become your online partner. Part of our ongoing role is to keep you up to date with the latest initiatives from WordPress and more importantly Google. Like Facebook, Google changes its search algorithm regularly, and we’ll let you know if it affects your site. Google notify us of changes through webmaster tools. We’ll plug this into your site too.
We require a 50% deposit with a signed off quote and balance on completion, that is when your site goes live.
